Code of Ethics

I conduct my practice by the guiding light of Penelope Smith’s Code of Ethics. Penelope Smith is recognized as the founding pioneer of intuitive interspecies communication and she is the elder of our community of animal communicators. It is with respect and privilege that I site her Code below.

A Code of Ethics for Interspecies Telepathic Formulated by Penelope Smith in 1990.

Our motivation is compassion for all beings and a desire to help all species understand each other better, particularly to help restore the lost human ability to freely and directly communicate with other species.

We honor those that come to us for help, not judging, condemning, or invalidating them for their mistakes or misunderstanding but honoring their desire for change and harmony.

We know that to keep this work as pure and harmonious as possible requires that we continually grow spiritually. We realize that telepathic communication can be clouded or overlaid by our own unfulfilled emotions, critical
judgements, or lack of love for self and others. We walk in humility, willing to recognize and clear up our own errors in understanding others’ communication (human and non-human alike).

We cultivate knowledge and understanding of the dynamics of human, non-human, and interspecies behavior and relationships, to increase the good results of our work. We get whatever education and/or personal help we need to do our work effectively, with compassion, respect, joy, and harmony.

We seek to draw out the best in everyone and increase understanding toward mutual resolution of problems. We go only where we are asked to help, so that others are receptive and we truly can help. We respect the feelings and ideas of others and work for interspecies understanding, not pitting one side against another but walking with compassion for all. We acknowledge the things that we cannot change and continue where our work can be most effective.

We respect the privacy of people and animal companions we work with, and honor their desire for confidentiality.

While doing our best to help, we allow others their own dignity and help them to help their animal companions. We cultivate understanding and ability in others, rather than dependence on our ability. We offer people ways to be involved in understanding and growth with their fellow beings of other species.

We acknowledge our limitations, seeking help from other professionals as needed. It is not our job to name and treat diseases, and we refer people to veterinarians for diagnosis of physical illness. We may relay animals’ ideas, feelings, pains, symptoms, as they describe them or as we feel or perceive them, and this may be helpful to veterinary health professionals. We may also assist through handling of stresses, counseling, and other gentle healing methods. We let clients decide for themselves how to work with healing their animal companions’ distress, disease, or injury, given all the information available.

The goal of any consultation, lecture, workshop, or interspecies experience is more communication, balance, compassion, understanding, and communion among all beings. We follow our heart, honoring the spirit and life of all beings as One.

As my client, I respect your privacy and am committed to protecting your personal information. This privacy policy applies to zafrananimalcommunication.com on both desktop and mobile applications and is applicable both domestically and worldwide.
Disclosures & Terms

Disclosures

  1. Intuitive Animal Communication is an intuitive skill based on the premise of a universally shared telepathic ability between all living things. It is not an exact science and therefore the resulting messages can offer multiple views of interpretation. As such, the content of such communications should not be taken literally.
  2. Intuitive Animal Communication is intended as a compliment to other professional services such as a veterinarian or animal trainer. With respect to medical concerns, I do not diagnose or treat medical conditions. I can only guide inquiries that should be directed to your vet. Regarding professional training services, I do have a professional animal training background and am qualified to advise on training issues at your specified request.
  3. Some communications can be emotionally sensitive, particularly those involving a beloved animal who is now in spirit. Although I am honored to assist in such connections, I am not a trained grief counselor. You may wish to seek an appropriate professional mental health practitioner if you feel the need of such support.
  4. Testimonials included on zafrananimalcommunication.com are all true and factual, offered by actual clients. Their testimonials are offered as examples of some of the results clients have enjoyed from my services. Each client/animal relationship and circumstances are individual. As such, results are also individual. There is no guarantee of results based on past client testimonials.
  5. Any and all content offered in my Resources page are offered for informational purposes only. They are free to explore and consider as educational content. This list is a living document, changing constantly as new links are added. Any content included should not be considered an endorsement and it is up to you to decide if and how to judge and use such content.
  6. Any insight or advice I offer as a result of an intuitive animal communication session with your animal is offered with the intent of the highest integrity and ethical standards. Ultimately, any actions you choose to take moving forward from such a communication are solely your responsibility.

Terms

  1. All written and photographic content on zafrananimalcommunication.com is protected by copyright law. No content shall be taken from this site for display, duplication, distribution or commercial exploitation. All content is owned by me, Justine Zafran, excluding the few images taken by other photographers who gave me direct permission to display them on zafrananimalcommunication.com.
  2. Any and all communication between myself and you (my client) will be limited to the content of your session and questions about the services I offer. Our communication will be facilitated through the Client Intake Form and any emails required to secure our appointment time to discuss the results of a communication session with your animal. Our meeting to discuss such findings is the sole time to review, ask questions and consult about any action steps moving forward from that animal’s session. Any further questions or concerns that may arise after that scheduled consultation can be addressed via my offered Additional Check-In service.
  3. The services offered by zafrananimalcommunication.com are limited to clients 18 years or older. This is due to the sensitive nature of collecting personal and payment information online.
  4. The content of your consultation is protected by the same rules of confidentiality as any medical, health or spiritual professional. Only by your written permission would any content be publicly shared via a testimonial or educational blog on zafrananimalcommunication.com.
  5. Although each session provides opportunities to gain personal, verifiable details, the goal of each session should be one of transformation over validation. Animal Communication offers a possible change in perspective and an opening to possible explanations for behavior that might surprise you. Please enter into this sacred space with an open mind and heart.
Cancellation and Refund Policy

If you need to reschedule an appointment, please do so no later than 48 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time. Missed appointments will result in loss of payment, except in the case of emergency.

Refunds are granted only in the case where it is clear from our discussion that I have not connected with your specified animal. This validation of connection is typically clear in the first few minutes of your consultation.

Refunds are not available for missed or rescheduled appointments. A credit of payment can be applied to future services, provided such a request is made no later than 48 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time.

Privacy Policy

What information is collected?

Any information such as your name, email, address, phone numbers, device indicators and any personal information required to book services, pay for services, enroll in blog/newsletter updates and/or receive any promotional updates about current services from zafrananimalcommunication.com are collected when you choose to request information or engage services. This will include payment details provided at time of booking. I may also collect a personal testimonial with your written consent, which may or may not be published on zafrananimalcommunication.com. Any personal details gained from a session or about your animals is strictly confidential and is held solely between you and Zafran Animal Communication. I am bound by the same confidentiality ethics as any medical, health or spiritual professional.

How does Zafran Animal Communication use this information?

The information you provide is collected for the strict purpose of facilitating your requested consultation. It will enable us to schedule your session, share info and photos prior to your session, connect with each other to review my communication results, schedule any follow up sessions and to provide any ongoing support you might want. It will also facilitate payment for these services.

With whom is it shared?

It isn’t. Your personal information stays with Zafran Animal Communication and is not shared with any other business or personal entities. I will not sell, share or trade any of your personal information with third parties outside of the basic functioning of our website and provider of payment services directly involved in your booking request.

Security:

Your sensitive information which is transmitted online is encrypted for your protection. (The lock icon in the address bar verifies this.) The computers and servers in which we store your personal information are stored in a secure environment.

My business website is hosted by hostgator.com who is providing me with the online platform to provide my services to you. Your data may be stored by HostGator’s secure data storage and databases on their secure servers behind a firewall. This website is designed with WordPress. We use Google Workspace for all business email. Financial and scheduling services are provided by Squareup.com. Newsletter services provided by Mail Chimp.
